Warrior Woman by Barry Smith

So, sad to say I don't read what goes with the art (although I love to read Rex Stout, Robert Heinlein, Robert Howard, Tolkien, Yukio Mishima, Shakespeare, Arthur Conan Doyle, Isak Dinesen, Jack Kerouac, J.D. Salinger, Mary Stewart, and Bullfinch), and so I have no idea who this character is.  She has something to do with the Young Gods, maybe with a touch of Adastra

  1. Barry has always been and will always be one of my favorite artists. His use of line is outstanding. I even loved his early, quirky days imitating Jack Kirby. Those early Avengers and Daredevils still hold up. I'm disappointed that Arlen Schumer omitted him in his beautiful book of Silver Age comic art.

  2. That was a bummer, Arlen's big lay-outs of the art were impressive, and Barry woulda been a great chapter. Don't know if it's still true, but the megabook store in Portland, Powell's, had an abundance of that book with a closeout price a few years back
